Ava Geyer is a playwright and screenwriter based in New York. She is currently a member of the Obie-winning writers' group EST/Youngblood and working on commissions for La Jolla Playhouse and the Aspen Institute. She's also developed work with Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, Ensemble Studio Theatre, and The Alliance Theatre.

Ava graduated from Princeton University with a BA in English with Honors and minors in Theatre and Creative Writing and earned her MFA in Playwriting from UC San Diego. She is passionate about using her playwright skills to help student essays "jump out of the pile" and loves helping young writers find their inimitable voice. When not writing or teaching, she's probably either running, practicing yoga, or watching hip-hop videos on YouTube with poorly disguised dance envy.
