When Tyler was a kid, his grandfather got him a subscription to National Geographic magazine. As a farm boy in rural Nebraska, each issue let him explore parts of the world he never knew existed. Since then, Tyler has kept his own travel wishlist and strived to experience other cultures as much as possible, studying abroad in Brazil and Panama and spending time in Brazil on a Fulbright scholarship where he worked for a local NGO and taught English.
Tyler returned to the US to study Public Policy at Duke University and focused on land and labor policy issues in international development. His work looked at policies to protect workers and combat forced labor. Tyler is very interested in national and international politics and usually has a news tab open on his computer. He likes being outside in nature and eating good food with friends.
