Michael has extensive teaching and tutoring experience, including ten years as a Director of Assessment Design & Development at the College Board, where he wrote and edited the questions for the English Language sections of the SAT. Additionally, Michael has over a decade of combined experience teaching writing and literature at Columbia University, Columbia Business School, and Yale University.
Michael loves word games and is quite serious about maintaining his “genius” status on the NY Times’ Spelling Bee app. He is enthusiastic about working with students, striving to pass along his own love for learning while making sure they ace their test. In addition to his interests in literature, art, and cinema, Michael enjoys browsing independent bookstores and exploring cities around the world. A serial language learner, he is always working to hone his skills in another language, currently Portuguese.
