College advising with Grace

Mark fell in love with admissions after serving as a Student Ambassador at Boston College. Although he returned to his native New York upon graduating, he was eventually pulled back to the Boston area where he served as an Admission Officer at Brandeis, focusing on the university’s diversity recruitment initiatives and evaluating applicants from New York City, Miami and Texas. He then spent five years at Babson College, where he continued his diversity efforts, and read applications from across Latin America and Asia.

After a brief stint in college counseling, Mark returned to Brandeis, overseeing admissions for a specialized master’s program in analytics. There he earned his graduate degree in Global Studies, and penned his thesis on the brain drain and educational migration of India and its diaspora.

Students working with Mark can expect compassion and candor, with many deep conversations sprinkled in (he can’t help but put those philosophy and psychology skills to good use!) In his free time, Mark enjoys cooking and improving his language skills on Duolingo. He vigilantly tries to keep the plethora of plants in his home alive and hopes to eventually read all the new books he’s recently acquired.

Favorite Book On the deeper side, Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl or Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics. For quick summer reads, I tend to go the Dan Brown route

Hidden Talent I'm great at mirror writing (script most easily deciphered using a mirror)

Pre-Test Pump Up Song Depends on the level of adrenaline needed. If I'm overexcited, James Taylor or Eva Cassidy to mellow me out. If I'm sluggish, “O Fortuna” from Carmina Burana, or Queen's “We Are the Champions
