ADMISSIONS EXPERIENCE
Middlebury College, Senior Assistant Director of Admissions

Steve’s commitment to the liberal arts led him all the way from sunny Southern California to the mountains of Vermont, where he landed at Middlebury College and discovered his love of psychology, international education and sustainability.

After graduating, much to his own surprise—and yes, despite the winters—Steve didn’t quite want to leave. He went on to work as a Middlebury Residential Director, focusing on supporting students in their transition to college, and then as a Trainer at The Posse Foundation, where he advised and selected students to attend the nation’s top universities.

Following his time with Posse, Steve returned to Middlebury and joined the admissions team. As a Senior Assistant Director of Admissions, Steve reviewed thousands of applications, served as an athletic liaison to numerous DIII sports teams, and managed the recruitment of students from around the US. Through his work planning admitted student days, managing the visitor experience, and organizing the multicultural fly-in program, he was committed to creating a more diverse college community and helping students successfully navigate what can be a challenging and obtuse process.

A strategic advisor and dedicated mentor, Steve loves helping his students connect the dots between their interests and the aspects of college that will allow them to thrive. In his free time, Steve can be found enjoying the natural beauty of Lake Champlain or hopping on a train to Brooklyn in search of his new favorite restaurant.
