Congratulations to the LogicPrep Class of 2026!

With decisions now behind us, I wanted to take a moment to share and celebrate this year’s outcomes.

This is my 19th admissions season, and it is no less exciting each time. I can still remember exactly where I was on Ivy Day every year. This year, I was in Colorado, and happened to step out between meetings to Zoom into a Fox 5 New York segment on managing decisions. No matter where I am, it’s always a meaningful moment.

Most importantly, these results reflect years of commitment, curiosity, and resilience. Each acceptance represents a student who showed up consistently, built on their interests, and crafted a story thoughtfully over time.

A few reflections from this year:

1. It’s more competitive than ever

No surprises here. Acceptance rates continue to dip, and the gap between early and regular rounds is becoming more pronounced. At Vanderbilt, for example, this year’s admit rates were roughly 13.2% in Early Decision versus just 3.3% in Regular Decision. Application volume continues to rise, and more of the class is effectively being shaped in earlier rounds. Colleges are managing yield carefully and leaning more heavily on institutional priorities. The takeaway is not to do more for the sake of it, but to be more thoughtful, more targeted, and more strategic in how a list is built and how a student is positioned.

2. Storytelling matters more than ever

In a world increasingly shaped by AI and abundant data, differentiation comes from clarity of voice and depth of reflection. Admissions officers are not looking for perfectly packaged students. They’re looking for students who understand themselves, can articulate their experiences, and show direction. The students who stood out this year were not necessarily those who did the most, but those who made meaning of what they did - in their own voices.

3. College lists are increasingly global

More students are building thoughtfully diversified college lists that extend beyond the U.S., including options in the U.K., Canada, and Europe. We are seeing families approach the process with a broader lens, and students are benefiting from having multiple compelling pathways rather than a single narrow definition of success.

4. Starting earlier matters

We are seeing more families begin this work in 8th and 9th grade, not to accelerate pressure, but to create space. Starting earlier allows students to explore interests with authenticity, build depth over time, and develop stronger habits and confidence. It also creates a healthier family dynamic, where decisions are made thoughtfully rather than reactively. The end result is not just stronger applications, but a more grounded and positive experience for everyone involved.

Thank you, as always, for your trust and partnership. It is a privilege to do this work alongside your families through such an important chapter.

Warmly,

Lindsay
