If you had told Liz in college that she would learn to code, study abroad in China, and play eight intramural sports, she never would have believed you. Yet she did all that and more, embracing every opportunity to step outside her comfort zone. That same spirit of curiosity and adventure led her to join the Peace Corps after graduation, where she taught English in Mozambique and discovered her passion for a career in education.
When she returned to the U.S., Liz joined the undergraduate admissions office at the University of Chicago, her alma mater. Over five years, she reviewed more than 10,000 applications. She especially loved engaging with students’ responses to UChicago’s famously creative essay prompts and helped bring that process to life by leading case study and essay workshops for students and educators around the world. She also played a key role in training and mentoring new admissions counselors.
As an advisor, Liz is deeply committed to supporting students at every stage of the process, from shaping their academic paths and summer plans to building thoughtful, well-balanced college lists. What she enjoys most is the energy and possibility of working with teenagers, and helping each student find a path that feels both exciting and authentic.
When she's not guiding students, Liz spends her time swimming, hiking, and camping, and enjoys board games, Zumba, her monthly book club, and time with her family.
