He believes that every student has a compelling story to tell and guides them through the essay writing process by asking thoughtful and productive questions about their backgrounds and interests.

Equipped with essays that demonstrate their unique personalities and academic passions, Jacob’s students have gained admission to selective programs in business, engineering, science, economics, the humanities, and more. As a scholar of transnational English literature of the 19th and 20th century and a writer on topics as broad as contemporary textile art, Indian civil history, and the intersections of literature and music, his interdisciplinary training has allowed him to support students in a wide variety of fields.

Jacob lives in Brooklyn with two unruly cats. His writing has appeared in Make Magazine, The Journal of Modern Literature, and Grey Room.
