International Instructors

LogicPrep is seeking dynamic academics who are passionate about teaching and travel to staff our São Paulo office for the school year of 2019-2020. With our International Instructor Program, we offer college graduates the unique opportunity to teach abroad while learning the local language and pursuing the many opportunities for learning in the vibrant cities of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

Our offerings include standardized test preparation (SAT/ACT, SAT Subject Tests, TOEFL, AP exams, and SSAT/ISEE), school support, organization and study habit development, and college advising. By supporting the development of the whole person, we teach and coach our students to be the best versions of themselves.

Who You Are

The ideal International Instructor is an intellectually curious and empathetic individual, preferably with teaching experience, who is excited by the opportunity to work with a rapidly-growing and continuously-evolving international education organization. Instructors will conduct 1-on-1 lessons with students on a tuition and pro-bono basis to work on test preparation, school support, and academic applications.

In addition to having the security of a full time teaching position abroad, International Instructors will be provided with rent-free housing and enrollment in an intensive Portuguese-language program to help enrich their experience living in Brazil. No previous Portuguese experience is required!



Specific responsibilities may evolve over time as the business grows and evolves. General responsibilities include:

  • Preparing for and conducting one-on-one lessons for all sections of the ACT/SAT, TOEFL, and school support

  • Supporting students' college application strategy and essay development

  • Efficiently learning and utilizing LP's proprietary technologies, tools, and materials

  • Availability during LP's hours of instruction: Mon-Thurs 3-9pm and Fri 3-8pm

  • Creating informal internal lesson reports to track students' sessions and progress

  • Drafting monthly client-facing progress reports with families to share students' wins and challenges

  • Participating in staff meetings to refine and iterate on processes affecting the business

  • Attending weekly syncs with academic advisors to evaluate students' progress; pivoting where necessary

  • Working on content projects to develop LogicPrep's resources for students and instructors

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and pivot teaching strategies tailored to student's learning style

  • Strong written/verbal communication skills and high EQ

  • Desire to educate and motivate students

  • Commitment to at least one academic year (September 2019-June 2020)

  • Score within the 99th percentile in selected sections of ACT

  • Score within 99th percentile in any SAT Subject Tests
