Emmaline

Tutor

Education

University of Michigan, BS in Information Science (Summa Cum Laude)

Emmaline’s love for travel and languages started early when she began teaching herself new languages in middle school and she hasn’t stopped exploring since. After graduating from the University of Michigan with a degree in Information Science and a concentration in User Experience Research and Design, Emmaline moved to Querétaro, a city in central Mexico, where she immersed herself in Spanish and the local culture through volunteering and community involvement. Her curiosity has also taken her to Spain and Italy, where she lived with local families and took language classes, as well as on extensive travels throughout Latin America.

Emmaline first began tutoring in high school and discovered a deep passion for teaching while working with elementary students as an English as a Second Language tutor. She enjoys helping students build confidence, develop essential skills, and prepare not just for the test, but for college and beyond. She loves tutoring because it allows her to connect with students, support their goals, and have some fun in the process.

When she’s not teaching, Emmaline enjoys salsa dancing, sharpening her Spanish and Italian skills, and spending time outdoors, especially hiking and playing tennis.
