Admission Experience

American University, Northeastern, Georgetown

Emily earned her bachelor's degree in English from Kenyon College, where giving campus tours and interviewing prospective students first sparked her interest in college admissions. She went on to build her career in higher education in Washington, DC, beginning in business school admissions at The George Washington University, where she also earned a master's degree in Higher Education Administration.

Emily later transitioned to undergraduate admissions at American University before moving into college counseling at independent schools in Washington, DC, California, and Ohio. In addition to advising students one-on-one, she taught college counseling courses, managed counseling teams, and developed admissions curriculum and resources.

Her admissions experience spans both undergraduate and graduate programs. Emily has reviewed applications for UC Berkeley, completed five application review seasons with Northeastern University, and spent three seasons reading MBA applications for Georgetown University. Across these roles, she has evaluated thousands of applications and developed deep insight into how selective universities make admissions decisions.

Emily is passionate about helping students discover colleges where they will thrive, uncovering the authentic stories that make each applicant unique, and supporting families through one of the most important transitions in a student's life.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys traveling, attending musicals and concerts, exploring museums and new restaurants, reading, and spending time with her pet rabbit, Dottie.
